Light up the night! Funky showmen with a disco flair, the Brothers Johnson were actually guitarist/vocalist George Johnson and bassist/vocalist Louis Johnson. The group received attention as top session players for several big RB bands…Quincy Jones “discovered” the talented duo and produced their early albums adding Q’s signature smooth production style. Their debut album, Look Out for Number One, immediately established the group as budding superstars. Follow up albums Right On Time, Blam and Light up the Night all were commercial and critical successes. George and Louis were masters of stylish yet complex funk melodies and disco textures that would lift you up off your ass and onto the dance floor.
